For Hannah, studying abroad was more than just an academic journey – it was an eye-opening experience that deepened her empathy for multilingual learners. “I now know what it feels like to be the outsider, not knowing the first language and struggling to follow along in class,” she shares. This realization has given her a new perspective on the challenges non-English-speaking students face in U.S. classrooms.

During her time abroad, she saw firsthand how visuals play a crucial role in helping students understand lessons. She plans to bring this insight back home to better support students who may struggle with language barriers. Beyond the  classroom, Hannah loved exploring Sweden’s charming small towns by train, collecting souvenirs and immersing  herself in the local lifestyle. Her advice to future students?

“This was truly a life-changing experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world. And make sure to under pack – you’ll want room for all your treasures.”
