Where did you study abroad?
Greece
Why is / was studying abroad important to your undergraduate experience?
It completed my theatre minor, and allowed me to explore previously unknown parts of the world to me. Furthermore, it broadened my horizons on different cultures and lifestyles.
How did you select your study abroad program?
The Greece Study Abroad, I thought would be a wonderful experience to not only see Theatre of a different culture, but broaden my horizons on art as a whole, gaining the opportunity to see dance, theatre, and music be played in Greece.
How did you grow during your study abroad experience?
I gained a lot of new experiences, and tried a lot of new things and also opened myself up to new experiences and perspectives. Many of the shows taught me many different perspectives on how people may view women, government, etc. and exposing myself to those different beliefs helped strengthen my resolve in my own.
What was your favorite excursion as part of your study abroad experience?
Going to the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus!
What advice would you offer other AFF scholars who are interested in studying abroad?
Open yourself to new experiences! See what opportunities interest you, it may not always be the first thing you want or have in mind but going into things with an open mind is good!
