University of Georgia Leader for Tomorrow scholar, Jay Ivey, was recently featured as a UGA Today Amazing Student. With his final year just around the corner, Jay reflects on what makes UGA so special to him personally and academically while pursuing an agricultural communications degree through the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. As an orientation leader and peer learning assistant, Jay can share his love of the university with incoming first year students from diverse backgrounds. As a student leader, Jay works to make UGA a more inclusive place. “A huge passion of mine is ensuring inclusivity for the spaces that I am a part of. I am committed to pursuing it by educating myself and speaking up for the injustices that others face. As a student leader, my goal is to make everyone feel welcomed and safe on campus”.
